June 2016 TBR

Happy June, everyone! (…two weeks late…) 🙂

This is going to be a bit of a shorter post than usual, since May ended up being a rather unproductive month for me and I’m trying to get back into the swing of things this month. We are also already halfway through June, so I’m obviously running a bit behind. Nevertheless, I still have a plan and I still wanted to update you on this plan! Also, I went to the bookstore recently and sort of did a thing…so…book haul time! 😀

June TBR

1. A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

agameofthrones

This is most likely going to be both a June and July TBR read. I will be traveling a lot toward the end of the month and I figured that this would be the perfect time to begin reading a giant book. And thus, A Game of Thrones finally finds itself on my TBR! I can’t wait to get started on the series!

2. Girl on a Wire by Gwenda Bond

I recently received an ARC of the companion novel to this book, so I figured, even though it’s not a direct sequel, I should give this a read before I move on to the second one. On top of that though, it also sounds like something I totally would have picked up anyway. It’s gotten some mixed reviews overall, but I’m hoping that I’ll end up enjoying it!

3. Girl in the Shadows by Gwenda Bond

Well…I guess this one is already pretty self-explanatory! Gotta get those ARCs read! I’m also very excited to get to this; it sounds like it will be a pretty interesting story.

4. Beastly Bones by William Ritter

I loved Jackaby so much, frankly, it’s pretty crazy that I haven’t continued the series yet. I’m also extremely excited because I recently got an ARC of the next novel, Ghostly Echoes, so I definitely need to get going on this one! Since June is already half over and it’s shaping up to be a very busy second half, I’m not sure how much reading I’ll be able to get done. For that reason, this is going in the “in case I have extra time” category, and will be a July read if I can’t get to it.

  1. Ooooo I really hope you love A Game of Thrones! I can almost guarantee you will and then you’ll want to binge all of those giant books, then we can fangirl! Also can’t wait for your thoughts on Rebel of the Sands as well since I’m a little iffy on it myself. Great haul too I just looooove getting new books haha. 🙂

  2. Rebel of the Sands is AMAZING! One of my favourite reads so far this year. I recently finished Girl in the Shadows. I now need to go back and read the first book. At least I didn’t have to read the first one to understand the second book. Happy reading!

  3. Good luck with A Game of Thrones! 🙂 I tried the books but Martin’s writing killed my attempt. I’ll stick with the show, but even that is not as good as it used to be.
This month, I am really excited about reading The Death Cure, I’ve been waiting to get a copy and I have it now!! *happy dance* Also, I can’t wait for the release of The Fire Child by S.K Tremayne. I’ll also treat myself with Crown of Midnight as my first buddy read book.
    Happy reading!

  4. Great book haul! Is the Harry Potter one a UK edition? I might have to get those when we have a house. So pretty.

I’ve read The Last Star (Fifth Wave #3) and it was SO disappointing! I also read Ashes to Ashes, the 3rd book in the Burn For Burn series and it was kinda disappointing too, but not overall awful.

But Adulthood is a Myth (Sarah Scribbles book), Dexter is Delicious (#5), Alice in Wonderland (illustrated by Anna Bonds, so beautiful!), and the 3rd One Piece manga made up for those first two. And now I’m reading Queen of Hearts, an ARC I got, and I’m 50 pages in and really loving it. So minus those first 2, a great month! Hoping to get to The Brocaded Slipper & Other Vietnamese Tales (super short, loved this in 6th grade and found a signed copy!), Invisible Monsters, Dust Lands (Blood Red Road #2), and Theft of Swords before the month ends. That last one is big though so we’ll see…

Hope you get a lot of books read! Those ARCS you have look lovely.
